SLB talking about how Ranveer's improvisation for Binte Dil, in just an hour after SLB had asked him to bring in bits of Jim Morrison and Zeenat Aman into his performance, impressed SLB. 😳 From 26.30

I still remember the BTS of Binte Dil, when SLB exclaimed in the end, "Waah Ranveer kya karta hain tu yeh gaana"😆

P.S. He still loves Baba...thank god. Ranveer is free next year Sanjay, please cast him again.

This was such a fascinating interview. He bares his process so flawlessly.
The most beautiful bit which has now changed my perspective on directors and their vision :

When Anupama asks about how his each frame is a thing of beauty,he says its because he grew up poor with beauty never surrounding him and he craved it with all his being and he is grateful that the paintless wall of his childhood that he wanted to paint and dreamed of painting is now a movie frame and he has every means to beautify it as he pleases.

Wow. This really opened up so many thoughts in my head. Goosebumps when he explained it.

I think SLB is extremely articulate as well..i love to watch his interviews because his pov is fascinating. The way he views things is completely different than other directors. Whether you like his movies or not is a different discussion but its soo difficult to come across anyone who is more passionate about cinema than him

SLB will announce his next in 15 days!

SlB says that 18 films are being made (after Padmaavat)

SLB is the most hated director for a reason..and I feel sorry for the actors who signed those 18 other films. No one expects them to be a patch on SLB's films.

woah...what an artist...so enigmatic at the same time so spiritual...This what a true artist is...so consumed with his art form, that that's the only thing he wants to live in his life... he doesnt care about the profit and loss as long as he gets to create what he wants, the way he wants...

really beautiful interview...very good insight into his life and what he is...

and yes, real artist comes out when they go through struggles of various kinds, it hones their skills and their zid to do well...

👏 and i totally believe in the Universe thing...when you really want something in life...like really really want it, universe will test you, but you will get it eventually...
