Katrina Kaif on #MeToo Movement

This came from her Vogue Interview

Respect. A basic necessity at the workplace, it's also one that is largely ignored by perpetrators of inappropriate behaviour, as seen in the public admissions of survivors as the #MeToo movement gains momentum in India. And while Kaif says she has been "incredibly fortunate to avoid unpleasant incidents, she voices her support for the movement but notes that we've only skimmed one layer. "It's shaking up the film industry. There won't be a single person who is not checking themselves and if they have ever behaved like this. They're probably feeling fear as we sit and talk about it. And when fear comes into it, there will definitely be behavioural corrections. It will also make it more taboo to make subtle comments and gestures in jest. But it exists across industries, and we all know that the world over there is a huge discrepancy in the amount of power women hold in the workplace as compared to men. That makes me think about the women who aren't in big cities and not in a position to speak out or defend themselves. I do hope it will trickle down to other spheresit'll take time, but this is a start.

I'm going to note the glaring missing details *coughs* Salman *coughs* but whatever...

Her answer is definitely good... but when I remember Salman Khan and the supposed slap she received, it shows the difference between speech and reality.

However don't know if that constitutes to #metoo movement as it may not be a professional thing, as they were dating...so maybe that makes it domestic violence, probably.

People often justify domestic violence in their head as love from the abuser (Salman)'s side like a parental instinct or a mistake on their own part and that what the abuser did was justifiable. She probably believes something similar.

----

But it is hypocritical in one way. All these celebrities keep championing women's causes and have nothig to say for the women who do come out with their stories. Not just Katrina, all of them. Be it Anushka, Sonam, Deepika, Priyanka.

I am not justifying anything...Sorry if it came across that way... its just that people say celebs are diluting #metoo movement by even adding consensual relationships also in it...also i have read people saying that #metoo is primarily about sexual harassment at work place

so that way i thought that maybe what happened between her and Salman might come in domestic violence and not come under #metoo

Oh no no. Not that way. I wasn't saying you said anything wrong.
Domestic Violence is definitely a part of me too.

I meant, Katrina probably justifies it in her head as if it wasn't violence at all. So I was talking about how Katrina in her head probably thinks it is either her fault or the abuser that is Salman, did it out of love.

I mean on this forum only, I have read Salman fans saying he slapped that other actress out of love and affection
