Not a fan of Shraddha OR Alia.

But the only way to measure stardom is by the no. of hits. So no matter much people scream about an actor's star power on internet, it wont mean anything if no numbers are being fetched in the BO.

but isn't stardom more than having hits? Alia was popular right from her debut...she was in the top 10 actresses within 1 or 2 years.

imo it is a combination of good films and also having something like an x factor that sets you apart off screen..

Priyanka deepika have that imo

jahnvi Kapoor is basically considered a star with only one film...

publicity plays a huge part...

I dont think so. Because screen presence, x factor and all that jazz... is really subjective.

Aishwarya fans will claim she is an evergreen superstar because of her great beauty and presence... I find her looks meh and her screen presence irritating.

BO pull/no. of hits is the best way to measure stardom IMO because its fair, obvious and something that cannot be disputed.

Edit- Although, then again, I also think the days of superstars are long gone. Even megastars like the Khans wont be able to save a boring film. So there's that also.

Its not always about box office - Kareena/Aishwarya have the most flops and big huge flops too - and theyre two of the biggest stars.

Rani and Preity gave more hits in their prime...but Kareena/Ash are a bigger brand. Whether you think they can act or not is a different story - just talking about their stardom/popularity.

It takes more star power to sustain despite flops than to give hits and be relevant. Thats why today Preity Zinta has no value.

the film is not declared a flop and earned about 9 cr on its first day which is more than raazi earned. I'm not sure I understand the point of this post...

based on that alone..how is Shraddha done when the film has not flopped?

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree has been on a phenomenal run at the Box-Office as the 3-week collections of the film as per the producers stand at a humongous sum of Rs 112.67 crores. The movie is on its course to challenge the lifetime collections of Alia Bhatt Vicky Kaushal starrer Raazi, which raked in Rs 123.17 crores at the Box-Office in India. Stree is approximately Rs 11 crores short of Raazi, however trade sources reveal that distributor Anil Thadani has been asked to underplay the Box-Office collections of Stree.

"Raazi is the highest grossing film lead by a female protagonist, and even that film was distributed by Anil Thadani. The distributor maintains a healthy relation with Karan Johar, whose every second film is distributed by Thadani under his banner, AA Films. Thadani has been asked to underplay the collections of Stree to make sure that it ends below Raazi at the domestic Box-Office, said a source close to the development.

The film fetched an extremely positive response from the audience and is still going strong at the Box-Office. The film withstood competition over the weeks, however it would be interesting to see where the film ends its run in India.
