Italian label United Colors of Benetton has been in India for the last 25 years. To celebrate the occasion, Sonam Kapoor visited the brand's flagship store in Bandra. Dressed in a striped dress with a black jacket nonchalantly thrown over her shoulders, Sonam Kapoor looked every bit the style icon she is. Kapoor recalled her earliest memories with the brand, and how it's unique campaigns impacted her as a child. "When I used to go abroad, when I was much younger, I used to see different campaigns, but there were only campaigns with just white people in it. Benetton was the only one which was inclusive, they had people of all colours wearing Benetton clothes. As a young person that made an impression on meif somebody of colour can wear this so can I.

Speaking of her personal style, Kapoor revealed that she is all about colours these days, especially yellow and fuchsia pink, and hopes to incorporate more vibrant hues into her wardrobe. Kapoor is one of the few Bollywood actors who have aced androgynous style. A firm believer of the movement towards gender-neutral fashion, Kapoor spoke about blurring the lines of fashion, "It's very important because I don't want anyone telling me what I can or cannot wear. I think those days are gone and it's important to understand that you can wear whatever you want. She went on to add how tuxedos, traditionally a menswear look, always look sexy on women, especially with a red lip. Aside from the basic differences in body structure between men and women, she further remarked, "Of course body shapes differ, but sometimes it doesn't matter what looks good or doesn't look good on you, as long as you feel it's looking good.

Another current fashion movement she is glad about happens to be athleisure, because she loves wearing laid-back, relaxed clothes, so much so that she called a tracksuit her go-to date night outfit! That's why she is a fan of the T-shirts and jeans from Benetton's latest summer collection. However, is there any trend she isn't so happy about? "Tattoo chokers, those plastic ones from the nineties, she quips, "Although I've been guilty of trying one, with a black lip and spiked hair.

Talking about summer, we asked her which movies remind her of summer. "Aisha and Khoobsurat, they're both summer movies, they released in the summer and they're fun, happy moviesromantic comedies, that are also empowering for women! Lastly, what does summer mean to her? "The beach! Or, especially because of Indian summer, I like to travel up to the hills.
