Tomorrow there's a hearing for the ban. There's a big chance that the ban will be lifted from all these states as the movie has rightfully received the CBFC certificate. I don't think the USA clause is true, sounds bizarre.

the states have banned it majorly coz they fear security issues
.

look what happened in the school..

it is not that they are against the movie releasing but coz of security fears since they are vandalizing anyrhing and anyplace which shows anything related to this movie..even schools

question is..will they provide that amount of security to all cinemas..will they be able to?

Guess what's common between Rajasthan, Gujarat, MP, Bihar, Haryana (the states who have banned the film) and you'll get your answer whether they are really not against the release of the film and are scared for the security of the people.

Desh ko chalane ka ek hi usool hai madam... no votebanks.. no votes. 😛

Jodha Akbar had huge protests too and was banned in 7 states. They went to SC and had them revoked and it released everywhere apart from Rajasthan.

This article is all glass half empty. I don't care anymore as long as it releases in Uk. Will be watching both movies do a good weekend for me

Legally ban will be lifted. But with the threat of violence an unofficial ban will remain in place. Only if state governments want to take action will the ban become ineffective. But it doesn't appear that state governments are interested in upholding the law. Otherwise there would not have banned it in the first place.
Also I don't think this time things will sort out once the movie releases and nothing objectionable is found. This whole thing has gone beyond that. Neither it seems that Karni Sena will take money and keep quiet.

SLB should directly release the movie on Amazon Prime. No way this movie is going to recover it's costs after getting a ban in so many states, which cover the major Hindi belt.

i do not see the need of crying buckets abt the film being
banned in few states..for as far as i know 46% of the revenue
comes from Mumbai itself..rest from the remaining states..
so in terms of the percentage earning from other states its quite marginal..
there is nothing to make a mountain of a mole in this revenue loss drama..
unless the makers already know they are not going to breakeven so cry beforehand
to defend its inevitable failure to recover the cost of filming it..come on its not a blanket
ban so why the hue n cry???
slb n his failures always readies some excuses..
as for deepu n ranveer they are safe as havana so who cares abt slb whether he sinks or swims
am not going to waste my precious sympathy on an arrogant sadist reputed to
distort history n literature vain man like slb..🥱

Won't help with an online release. Very easy to use a simple screen/audio recorder to record the movie and release it on youtube/pirate sites/DVD (this is sadly happening with many Indian movies these days in amazon prime). Atleast a theatre release will assure better revenues.

Why don't they try releasing it in online streaming sites along with the theatre release?

Haven't heard of such a thing. Mumbai is mainly multiplex audience,46% revenue can be earned for small to medium budget films that have the metro audience as their TA. Padmaavat is an event film, needs a mass release for it to break even and generally period-mythological films do much better in mass centres than metros. So Rajasthan+Guj+Haryana+MP+Bihar is like almost the entire northern belt slipping away, that too for a movie that has northern India and it's custom/heritage as it's background, just like how Bajirao did very well in the Maharashtra and North Indian belt for it's background of both Rajput and Maratha.
