He's been a photographer from the early 90s and is closely associated with many stars who started their careers with him doing their portfolios or their first shoots. It's nothing but personal friendship that makes a lot of these stars do this.

Besides, it is another way of looking relevant because usually the top stars are featured on the calendar. For the younger stars who are so eager to be featured, the calendar is the in thing and gives a sense of accomplishment that you've arrived and are on your way to the big league if you are featured on the calendar.
