Aishwarya Rai Bachchan seems to be in
huge demand right now. Where she already
has 3 films rolled up her sleeves namely
Fanney Khan, Raat Aur Din Remake and an
untitled thriller. We now hear that the
beauty has also been considered for a film
that deals with surrogacy, tentatively titled
Jasmine. Yes, it's going to be a co-
production between Toilet: Ek Prem Katha
director Shree Narayan Singh and Prernaa
Arora's production house as Narayan
himself confirmed the news to Mumbai
Mirror stating, "It is inspired by a real life
story of a woman in Gujarat who doesn't
want to have children but decides to
become a surrogate mother for someone
else. After a point she gets attached to the
child and wants the child back. He adds that
they will roll after the monsoon as the
writers need time to perfect their script and

Although the makers are keen to have
Aishwarya on board and have already
approached her for the role but Prerna
maintains, "We would love to have her but it
will depend on her dates. Let's not forget,
Prerna is already associated with Aishwarya
through Fanney Khan that's releasing this
year and Raat Aur Din remake that's
expected to go on floors soon.

Shree Narayan Singh, the director of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, has just announced his new film Jasmine. The movie will be based on the topic of womb for hire.
According to sources, it's a brave story on a woman's empowerment, and her right to assert her sexuality. It's about a Gujarati girl who puts her womb on hire for conceiving and then becomes attached to the baby when it is born.

Shree Narayan, who will co-produce the film along with Prernaa Arora, wants to cast either Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or Parineeti Chopra in the title role for Jasmine.

Interestingly, both actresses are nicknamed Pari'. So which Pari will play Jasmine?

Says a source close to the project, "At the moment, it looks like Parineeti will beat Ash to the role, as the latter's dates aren't available. The team wants to start the film in August.

Jasmine: Story of a Leased Womb will deal with the subject of surrogacy. The project will be co-produced by Prernaa Arora and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan Singh.

Jasmine: Story of a Leased Womb - going by the title, you will have an idea that the movie deals with a powerful topic of surrogacy. The poster of the movie is out and it's an interesting one wherein you see a women's hand on a womb and 'sold' is written just below her novel.

The project will be co-produced by Prernaa Arora and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan Singh. The script of Jasmine has been penned by the writers of Toilet: Ek Prem KathaSiddharth and Garimawho will also be directing the film.

There is buzz that the makers are keen to cast Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. When we contacted Shree Narayan Singh to confirm the news, he said, "Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is on our wish list BUT it's too early to reach any conclusion on this."

Talking about the film, Shree Narayan Singh told a daily, "It is inspired by a real-life story of a woman in Gujarat who doesn't want to have children but decides to become a surrogate mother for someone else. After a point, she gets attached to the child and wants the child back."

Garima told another daily, "We have been researching on surrogacy for nearly four years. Films have been made on it in the past, but our story is based on the people we've met, including the surrogates and their families. It is not going to be preachy, but entertaining."

"The character is very quirky. Having said that, I must add that it also deals with both social and emotional issues around the subject of surrogacy. The woman doesn't know about motherhood and what happens after that. You must've heard the saying that it is a child that gives birth to a mother, so the film is based on that thought," added Garima.

Talking about Aishwarya, she said, "Nothing has been finalised as yet, but we are very keen to have her in our film."
