The only film where she was even visible was NH10. And when that film did well, she got the credit for it. But otherwise, she hasn't done anything special in any of her films. For me, she was the weakest part of PK.

Anushka has talent even though she overacts a lot and does same old bubbly, full of life gal roles in most of her movies. Plus, she's a smart lady. On one hand, she does movies like NH 10 and Phillauri to get appreciation from critics and at the same time she does movies like PK and Sultan to achieve BO success even though the roles in these movies are nothing great or that can be remembered for years. I guess that's the reason flop films don't affect her because film makers know she can act and also she is ready to do any kind of role in hero centric movies.

Anushka got very lucky she's considered appropriate enough to be paired with the khans. That's been what saved her career. The khans are running out of actresses whom the audiences will accept them with so they're stuck with the few girls left. For example shraddha is older than anushka but people would simply not accept her with any of the khans, not even saif because she has only worked with young heros.

I think it's because the movies don't flop because of her. Just like most of them don't become hits because of her. She acts well, especially the bubbly girl roles. And I think most people enjoy her acting. She is a plus to every movie she is in, barring maybe PK, but then I hated PK so.. But she doesn't carry a film. She can act, she makes a likeable pair with most actors and she is not disliked by her colleagues as well as movie-goers, so she keeps getting movies.

Nice observation.

Shraddha and Anu are more or less of the same age, but Anushka debuted opposite SRK in a wife's role - so, that an image for her. When she acted with Aamir and Salman later on, and SRK again, it didn't look too out of place. It was normal. Anu also looks a bit older than Shraddha even if she is younger by a year.

Shraddha debuted in a rom-com (as a female lead) and worked with younger actors primarily, so her image is still of someone who's in their mid-20s. Anu, Deepika, and Kangana are considered in the same bracket; strangely, Shraddha is pegged with Alia and co.

Anushka is a easily replaceable actress. She may have chemistry with most actors but she lacks the fire. She is easily over shadowed by not just superstar co stars but also by all others. Can't think of the last movie where I was like woah Anushka.

She is non threatening.
She doesn't really stand out unless the one she is partnered with is much much weaker and has lesser screen presence

Thats why she cannot profit much from blockbus Movies either
