Two films and two actors.

Both in big avant garde films riding on them under the able hands of directors who were fresh off their previous success.

Unfortunately, they couldn't repeat the success of their earlier films.

The opening wasn't up to mark by their own individual benchmarks.

One was deemed disaster while the other's verdict will be out soon.

A common factor with both the films was the disappointment with the direction/writing/editing of an avant garde topic.

As IFians we all understand the fickle nature of BO and know it is not just about the money. 😊We wait anxiously for our actors to put their best foot forward in challenging roles and are ever ready to be there cheerleaders (since the time the movie is announced to its release) irrespective of the outcome.

So for a change, this topic will not talk about BO. 👍🏼 (many threads already on it 😕).

Let's talk about performances.

Who performed better in their respective leading roles? 🤓

At any point during Rangoon, was there a scene where Kangana's character was able to move a mountain whilst pretending to look like she was on the pakhana?

NO!

Just by that alone, she loses. 😕

NO!

I saw the Censor certified version and there was none.

To be sure, should I contact Vishal for the "Deleted Scenes"? That way, I can also get to finally see some of Kangana's favorite top notch scenes

I haven't seen TL yet, but from what I have read on forum and Reviews , Salman's performance has been trashed . He couldn't deliver his part convincingly.

Whereas Kangana was praised , she was let down by script, she did not give a bad performance.

A star can do the following -

Give solid opening

Give solid performance, even in a flawed movie

Salman failed on both, but latter will hurt a bit more.
