sh also tells him by the time he comes back she will have a bride ready for him...He goes with Katappa and soon comes to Kuntala region where princess is Devasena...Her intro scene is amazing and Baahu falls for her at 1st sight...Both pretend to be poor and Katappa ask her to teach Baahu something...Long story short they spend some time...Devasena still does not know his identity...Meanwhile Bhallal and his dad come to know of Devasena and Baahu's love for her...They show a pic of Devasena to Shivagami and Bhallal's dad tells her Bhallal has fallen for her...Shivagami without knowing Baahu's love for Devasena promises her marriage to Bhallal...She sends a messenger to Kuntala with a lot of costly gifts...The messenger is arrogant with his proposal...Devasena rejects it...Shivagami is furious...She sends a message to Baahu to capture her and bring her to Mahisthmathi...In Kuntala One night enemies attack and Baahu saves them...Just then Shivagami's message comes there...Baahu explains that Devasena had rejected the proposal so she gave such an order...they leave for Mahismathi...Baahu promises to support her always...Once thy reach Mahishmathi the truth is clear to them...that the proposal was for Bhallal not for Baahu...Devasena tells Shivagami that she was wrong..even Baahu supports her...Shivagami announces Bhallal will be the next king...Baahu is given position in the army...slowly Bhallal poisons Shivagami's mind fully by his tricks...So Shivagami orders Katappa to kill Baahu...Katappa agrees very half heartedly...Baahu is killed same night Mahendra his son is born...Katappa comes to Shivagami and tells her she was poisoned by Bhallal...Shivagami announces to the people that Mahendra will be the next king...soldiers try to capture Shivagami...She escapes with Baahu but is shot by an arrow...

Till now was flashback...Katappa was telling the story
The next part is how Mahendra takes his revenge and becomes the rightful king

I haven't watched yet too. I am not too keen on fantasy movies and BW has stopped appealing to me since the last few months. But I might catch it now that it's gotten unanimous praise and appreciation. The dubbing puts me off too. This is such a pet peeve of mine. I can't watch anything dubbed. I feel like I'm missing a great deal of emotions of the narrative if the movie is dubbed. I would rather watch with subtitles. The connotation of tone makes an awful lot of difference no matter what language is being spoken. One of the reasons why I miss out on some great south films.

FITB: Yeah I had the same thought, but there was explanation in Bahubali2 DT that Bahubali's son got the physical power to fight war because of his father's genes, like he didn't require training because he had so much inner raw strength, you know? Little hard to believe, but it's fine for a fantasy movie 😊
