- Wasn't she worth it?
EVEN as her arch rival Deepika Padukone has been announced as the new brand ambassador for an international cosmetic biggie, your diarist can't help but wonder whatever happened to Katrina Kaif. Kaif, who was the same company's ambassador just for a couple of years, was let off last year. At the time, both Kaif and the company had stated a conflict of interest would arise, as the actor wanted to launch her own makeup retail brand. While we are scratching our heads wondering if Kaif's company could ever compete with one of the biggest conglomerates in the world, we're still waiting to test out her first lipstick. But we're told it isn't coming anytime soon, in fact, there may not be a makeup label by Katrina Kaif at all. Hmm, then what happened to being brand ambassador for among the world's biggest companies and all those junkets to Cannes? Supposedly the lady didn't win the popularity stakes with them, and wasn't the most cooperative model. Ah, well. Now it's as clear as day.
- Cool school
THE United World College of South East Asia, a private school in Singapore, is fast becoming a big fave among parents in Bollywood. Last year we reported that Akshay Kumar had admitted his son Aarav to the school. Now, a source tells us that Kajol recently checked out the school with her daughter Nysa. Both mom and daughter were apparently pretty impressed with what they saw, and chances are that Nysa might well end up studying in Singapore.
- Tailpiece
NEWS of this actor's arrogance just won't stop pouring in. We hear the talented star"also an endorsement favourite" has been talking to a major action filmmaker for his upcoming film. Even though bits and bobs of them working together were leaked, not many know that their talks actually fell through. We hear the actor had demanded a whopping Rs 21 crore for the project, which the filmmaker refused to pay. And then, like a potboiler's plot twist, the actor's mentor" a filmmaker himself too-- was roped in to finalise the argument. The amount agreed upon is apparently Rs 15 crore, which is Bollywood is considered to be a reasonable amount.
