What do you guys think about his ratings? I've been hearing Kaabil is much more critically praised, so does this come as a surprise for you?

With people like Rajeev Masand and Anupama Chopra, it's all about how the movie made them feel.

It could have a great story, great performances, nice music, nice visuals, but if while watching the movie the screenplay drags on, it's not enjoyable. Hence the 2 + 3 stars.

Aren't all the critics like that though? They mostly rate on what they feel. Though I still find Anupama and Rajeev a lot more honest in their critiquing than most critics mostly because they do focus on things like screenplay and they don't have "favorites" so to say, they say what they feel without trying to suck up to anyone. I know people were attacking anupama about her befikre review but I feel that was her "this is what this movie made me feel" moment, it is rare for anupama, but I think that was what it was. I never watched the movie, so I don't know how the movie was "objectively", but I can understand that subjectively, it was a wonderful experience for her, meanwhile, for another critique it might not be.

Though on this particular topic, I wrote this post because Raees actually got more ratings than kaabil even if by 1/2 point, I was expecting it to be completely thrashed going by all the hullabaloo about kaabil's critical "praise" in comparison. So, I wanted to know if anyone was surprised as me on this. 😆
