It was fun last year doing this, but it can better this time around. Like last year, here are my two cents;

- Impose a post limit on who can cast a ballot. We agreed on 100 last year, I think. It does away with bogus votes. I know it might be unfair to some, but its better this way considering the nature of this forum.

- Do away with the best debut categories. They are a waste of time. If someone is good enough he can land a nomination or even a win in main categories.
- Same goes for the singing awards. They are not related to the movies. You in particular will save a lot of time. Or if you must, put them in as optional.

I think these should be the categories:
Best Picture.
Honours in;
Acting(lead and supporting).
Direction.
Cinematography.
Writing (Screenplay).

Production Design/Art direction.
Editing.
Score.
Visual effects.

And then you can go with (From last year if you want);
Best Song.
Costumes.
Hair and Make up.

Keep it short and simple. That way more people will be inclined to vote.

I agree with @hermoin82, push the voting date back. It will give people time to watch Dangal and think about it. Some might not even watch it and vote.

Push it back to 1st of Jan, or to the 26th giving Dangal one weekend atleast.

Post limit restriction is still on like last year. All the rules will be explained well in thread.

Let me think of your category consolidation suggestions. The idea originally was to honor the holistic departments of filmmaking, as this forum only thinks of Star Wars and BO collection. 🥱 But let me PM you more on this, it has merits.

Regarding the date, how about i open the polling starting 25 (PAcific Standard Time) ... that will give a full weekend in India and 5 days in US etc. DANGAL releases on 21st here. 😉

Last year the polling began with BM release and closed within 10 days and it still won majority of the awards. The members didn't finalize the ballot until they watched the movie. The same logic was applied with DANGAL.

However, I am willing to adjust the open date because of two passionate jury members. Due to personal reasons, I've to wrap up the awards by jan1. 😳
