Hrithik-Kangana case to be closed, Cyber police file NIL Report

The biggest Bollywood controversy of the year surrounding actors Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut, has come to an anticlimactic end. In the latest turn of events, Mumbai police's forensic department has submitted a 'NIL report' in the scandal.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the forensic probe into the 'romantic' and private emails Kangana had claimed Hrithik sent her, contrary to the 'Kaabil' actor's claims that it was the handiwork of an imposter, has failed to draw up any conclusion. The Cyber police in Bandra Kurla Complex is likely to close the case as the only 'bone of contention' was the emails sent from the account 'hroshan@email.com'.

Sanjay Saxena, joint commissioner of police, Crime Branch told Mirror, "We have been unable to find anything on the mail ID as the server is located in the US. Now it is very difficult to ascertain who was using the account. Still, we will try to conclude [the case] from the available evidence."

With the police's forensic experts unable to establish any facts about the email ID, they have submitted a "NIL report".

Speaking on the same, a senior police officer said, "It's a dead end. Only data from the server based in the US could have helped us in identifying the user of the email account."

Kangana's lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee, said that he wasn't surprised with the outcome of the probe, and that this only goes to prove his client's statement that there was no 'imposter' in the first place. He said, "We are not surprised to learn that the police have, after a thorough investigation, filed a NIL report, which means that they could not trace any imposter as was claimed by Hrithik Roshan...Kangana has always been maintaining that there was no imposter ever."

Siddiqui further added, "No one can deny the fact that Kangana had to uselessly bear the brunt of unwarranted and uncalled for actions on the part of Hrithik Roshan."

The Hrithik-Kangana scandal rocked Bollywood and the mudslinging played out in full public view - it all began in January when the actress called Hrithik her 'silly-ex'. Soon, it spiralled out of control with friends stepping in to counter claims made by the other. On one hand Kangana's friend stated that Hrithik followed her to Paris where he proposed to her. Contrary to those claims, Hrithik's team stated that the 'Queen' actress was 'stalking' him and that she sent 50 emails a day. Apart from that, they also stated that she was suffering from Asperger's syndrome, while maintaining that the two 'never dated'.
