Not sure if I agree on that for this year. There have been quite a few albums that have had good/great music on the whole and are > 7/10 for sure...Fitoor, Udta Punjab, BBD, ADHM. Sultan, Neerja, Rustom, Befikre, Airlift, Azhar, Kapoor & Sons, Mirzya, Tum Bin 2, Raaz Reboot & Rock On 2 also seem to have their takers. I think I can easily come up with about or more than 20 songs I've liked and a decent chunk of them worth coming back to in the long term. Dangal title song sounds awesome too.

My problem with desi music lately has been that I enjoy the songs in the moment. I might listen to them on repeat for a while on saavn/gaana/radio, but I don't actually properly remember them a few months down the line, let alone a few years..It's not that the songs themselves are bad in quality or are bad overall, it's just that for me they haven't really had that ability to stay with me for a long time. That's what I mean by forgettable...they don't stand the test of time for me. A few years ago this wasn't the case..

Honestly, when I was trying to think of BW music that came earlier this year, I pretty much drew a complete blank. After I saw the comments here I remembered Fitoor's songs but until I replayed it I didn't even really remember the tune you know? There's no lasting impact or power.

C'mon, you didn't even recall the Jabra melody? 😲 Chull was also very catchy and easy to recall. I think this is a symptom of aging 😛😆

Haha yes I did remember Jabra and Chull but they're not my favorites .. I remember Jabra more for SRK's sheer energy than anything else. 😆

Haha I did realize that I sounded more like my dad when writing that last post. 😆

But honestly, I loved the entire albums of YJHD, Raanjhana, Lootera, Queen, 2 States, Talaash..etc...but the number of albums/songs I love/remember this year or the year before has decreased a lot. 😆
