In old BW movies whenever the heroine was hysterical, crying, yelling, trying to commit suicide, the hero would give her a tight slap to bring her to her senses.

KJo wanted to show the gender role reversal in modern times, Ayan's and Alizeh's both their partners have cheated on them, but its Ayan who is sobbing hysterically, going overboard in his OTT heartbreak. 😆

So Alizeh slaps him to bring him to his senses and then demonstrates with that heavy pot how it actually feels to have ur heart broken as opposed to what he was feeling.

We have seen such scenes too many times to feel anything awkwards whether it's a man or a woman. When a woman keeps crying, yelling, screaming, she just gets a slap (whether from a female or male) and same goes here where it's a man being slapped.
