Despite PCs bold avatar, Quantico sees a HUGE fall in TV ratings!

When it comes her international career, Priyanka Chopra is definitely soaring when it comes to grabbing the right kind of attention. She has been the talking point during the recently held Emmys, where her red dress, that twirl on the stage when she came to present an award and her obvious chemistry with the Thor actor Tom Hiddleston won her a lot of admirers. The rumour mills have since been abuzz that there is something going on between her and Tom Hiddleston, who has recently split from Taylor Swift. Earlier she had also been a presenter at the Academy Awards, as well as a guest on many popular talk shows. She has completed the shoot of her first Hollywood film, Baywatch, that also stars Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. All that happened to her international series,Quantico, that made her huge in the international circuit.

Bu it looks like the star of the show is becoming bigger than the show itself, since the ratings of the recently commenced second season is not so favourable to speak about. The premiere episode itself failed to garner much ratings itself. As per Variety.com, their TV article says, "ABC premiered its Sunday drama lineup to less-than stellar ratings last night, with returning series "Once Upon a Time," "Quantico," and "Secrets and Lies" all struggling against "Sunday Night Football". At 10 p.m., "Quantico" returned with a 1.0 and 3.6 million, down 47% in the demo and 49% in viewers from its series premiere last fall."

That's a really steep fall for the show, who has always struggle to captivate the US audience, who of course, have been lavished with premium shows like How To Get Away With Murder and House of Cards, that fall in the same genre. Though the second episode of Quantico didn't fall further, it just kept on clinging on to the same ratings as per TV website, tvbythenumbers.com, ""Quantico" held onto its 1.0 (out of 4) from last week, but ABC's other two dramas dipped from their premieres."

The season 2 of Quantico that began last week had Priyanka Chopra getting into CIA and being a part of their training. The show, which had two episodes till now, has already shown us that Priyanka Chopra is going bold even by the first season's standards. The first episode had her in a black bra, while the second had her engaged in a lovemaking scene with fellow actor, Jake McLaughlin (Ryan Booth in the series). However, its looks like these bold turns by the desi girl aren't enough to attract the viewers there. Let's hope the fortunes of the show get an upswing in the coming weeks.

Designated Survivor' is your premiere week DVR champion: Broadcast Live +7 ratings

"Designated Survivor" posted the biggest gains of premiere week with seven days of DVR and on-demand viewing " and by one measure, the biggest gain ever.

The ABC show doubled its initial adults 18-49 rating, going from a 2.2 after its premiere to a 4.4 in the Live +7 figur. It was one of five premieres that grew by at least 100 percent, along with "The Blacklist" (1.3 to 2.7), "How to Get Away with Murder" (1.4 to 2.9), "Quantico" (1.0 to 2.0) and "Agents of SHIELD" (1.1 to 2.2).

"Designated Survivor" also posted the biggest total-viewer gain of any show since DVR ratings started being tracked. It added 7.67 million viewers within a week of airing " a gain that by itself would have ranked ahead of 33 other shows in premiere week.

TORONTO, Oct. 3, 2016 /CNW/ - With a week's worth of data now available for Sunday, Sept. 25, the seventh night of Premiere Week, data reveals that QUANTICO returned as the most-watched series of the day in Canada. A top 10 series among Canada's most-watched TV programs last season, the hit series kicked off its sophomore season with 1.7 million viewers, ranking #1 for the day with total viewers and all key demos. Airing at 10 p.m., QUANTICO showed growth over last season's finale with total viewers (+9%) and A25-54 (+13%).

With live plus seven days of playback data providing a comprehensive representation of audiences, Numeris data indicates three of the Top 5 most-watched programs with total viewers and all key demos Sunday night were on CTV. Along with QUANTICO's hot start, Regina's (Lana Parrilla) dark half, the Evil Queen, resurfaced to stir up some trouble in the season premiere of ONCE UPON A TIME (954,000) at 8 p.m., and there was no shortage of secrets in the return of SECRETS AND LIES (1 million) at 9 p.m., which saw double-digit growth in A18-34 (+56%) and A18-49 (+12%) over the same timeslot last fall.

CTV can now claim three of the Top 5 programs on four nights of Premiere Week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday).

All-new episodes continue tonight (Oct. 3) on CTV and CTV GO as Sheldon (Jim Parsons) meets The Flash on THE BIG BANG THEORY at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT, followed by the Mad Hatter's (Benedict Samuel) arrival on GOTHAM at 8 p.m. ET/PT, Tricia Helfer's (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) full debut as Lucifer's mother Charlotte on LUCIFER at 9 p.m. ET/PT, and the premiere of new Hayley Atwell (MARVEL'S AGENT CARTER)-led justice drama CONVICTION at10 p.m. ET/PT.
