Namastey London was sold at high price (most of akki films prob), it needed 17 Cr Distributor share to get Clean HIT... opening was HUGE, then it fizzle out, just manage to pull off 15.90 Cr Distributor Share, so Semi-Hit.

Yes it does not add up much or neither it matters. Still how come a movie which was hit 9 years ago, is suddenly semi-hit, Akshay was praised for giving 4 clean hits in a year, suddenly now one of those hits is semi -hit, do teen saal baad, Rustom aur Airlift ko sirf hit aur Houseful ko semi-hit bol sakte hain ye BOI, koi bharosa nahi raha inka.

I agree, Sultan aur Dabangg ATBB hain, suddenly they are not, Chennai Express is a ATTB, but it is never credited. Dhoom 2 is an ATBB, lekin usko bhi kabhi ATBB ka khitaab nahi mila. weird.

Movies toh ache the na? Not senseless... he will be remembered for a Special 26 and Airlift more than some of the nonsensical movies he is done... and because of that he is still approached for many roles today too... he can be versatile when needed...

Sadly he has done films like Waqt, Ek Rishta, khatta meetha, sangarsh also which are not his usual masala flicks, but ppl only start with SPECIAL 26, next if BABY, next is AIRLIFT, now next is RUSTOM... Why no body talk about his films before Special 26? & what so special about Special 26 that is the best film of Akki? Just coz it is directed by NEERAJ PANDEY, who has directed A WEDNESDAY... means a highly critically acclaimed director if works with Akki kind of stars who before that did masala films in majority, it will change completely his image 👏😆

Akki took too long to become a A lister star from B lister star .

Poor guy had no solid BW backing. If he had YRF or KJO backing him, he would have success rate of 60-70% and King Kumar today.

Whats done is done, he will have longer innings than SRK-Sallu

YRF backed Shahrukh because he did a role that everyone else refused and then went onto provide them with succesful films

It was Shahrukh who paved the way for Karan into direction

And Akki also had alliances with directors like Priyadarshan..
