No, I think it is more the desi/ western conflict in my case. I am friends with white girls and growing up when we had sleepovers, we would watch chick flicks which had kissing. Their moms would occasionally wander in, but I never felt weird watching it in front of them, but I would have had I watched in front of my mom. These are conservative people too, but American white conservative, not desi conservative. So I guess ethnicity and culture plays a part in levels of conservative ? IDK, I've always felt the cultural pull don't know how to explain.

We should still consider ourself lucky for all the lee way. It just gets brutal in India. I have a habit of keeping my room door locked and people there dont get it and always ask my why you closing the door? And if you take some time in the washroom even then they don't live you alone. My chachi is one of the pesky people who would actually come and knock on the door and ask me what Iam doing and if everything is ok.Like woman no, Iam laying bricks here and discussing global warming with Al Gore on Skype. š¤¢
my mom is no tauba tauba type she watches almost all films Film ka keeda she is aligarh ki n ka dirty picture all n I download for her.Later I even ask ki kaisa laga she discusses. But aisa h ki watching close scenes with parents can get embarassing for u n them too.Akele dekho they know movie m kya h but kuch nahi bolenge.Ofcourse after u r 14 ki 15.Usse pehle chup chupke dekho and before even that my parents decided which film me n didi can watch.Films like rajuchacha n allš dad k sath ye h ki I'm his lil princess and I wanna stay like that for dad he sure knows I know all being a bio studentšbut I'm bachhi for him forever
Story of every Asian kid. My mom lived her entire life abroad but still tends to do this like taubah taubah, kalyug ka zamana hai, what chichorapan is this blah blah. When I went to visit her on vacation I was watching some hindi show or movie dont remember and it had some scene and she started yelling at me change kar, change kar chanel, hall mein yeh chicorapan mat kar. š
I just love her for having self respect and not leaving an opportunity to show her dislike for his toxic behavior....
I can't believe we're made to torture Khushi Kapoor and IAK. On top of that, they cant even speak proper Hindi or English. Like how can you be...
