Sona in some article confirmed what he said, but added that the equation between the characters is quite complex.

don't worry they'll be in the same frame for way more time than the time he and the other girl will get (going by the original)

and there will be moments when his and Sona's character will interact and people will wonder about the equation between the two.

Umm..just a doubt... decades back there was a Tamil movie, have forgotten the name but a line from it became very famous, it was "I know, I know" said by Raghuvaran...

The movie had Rahman, Raghuvaran & Rekha. It was about a sadistic psycho hubby who doubts the fidelity of his wife. One fine day he ends up dead! Who killed him? Was it the wife or the friend who had come visiting or was it some 3rd person ... is Iteffaq that story?

They will have a slight intimate moment. Original had some some scene that seemed like 2 will get together due to their loneliness but it quickly takes a turn with next twist

nope, the gist of Ittefaq is :

Dilip loves his passion more than his wife, and one day in a fit of rage, when his wife tries to harm his paintings, he strangles her to death.

@bold: This is what is assumed by people around him and after a point him as well but it's a mystery as to who actually killed his wife.

Spoiler ahead
The story is about alcoholic painter/artist whose wife is killed after an argument with him. He is accused but due to the pressure of people around. He is persuaded into thinking he killed his wife. Later in jail he figured he is innocent. He escapes. Ends up going to a house belonging to a rich woman (her husband is out for some business trip). She was just about to shut her windows. He gets in and sort of holds her as a hostage but they communicate and become fond of each other until she tried to get him caught with police turning up at her door. But eventually he stops her from doing but only to discover a dead body in her bathroom. Who was he? Who killed him? What happens next? Watch it yourself.

Though they will rewrite the story for the new one

Oh, that sounds unusual... Thanks for narrating the story in brief😊

That must have been the missing hubby!! So is the death of his wife connected to the death of the man found in the refuge?

The plot u narrated sounds intriguing , I just hope the current makers do not overplay their cleverness and kill the essence of the mystery..

Thanks Vagabando

Well yeah. That's the hubby. But the male protagonist once again deluded in thinking it was his imagination by the lady. Then he looks again and body is removed. Which is later revealed in the film that it was one of the cop who helps her remove the body. Ending is thrilling. Wife's murder case is later revealed that the one accused the guy of killing was the actual killer (which is his sister in law/wife's sister). She killed her sister due to greed for wealth. Both cases connect at the end. One of the best thriller I've seen.

Ittefaq had a gripping screenplay. Hope the rewritten script for the remake will match up to it.
