Being featured in Vanity Fair may not be enough to rival her...
There have been a lot of debates and disputes going on about who is bigger betweenDeepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in Hollywood since both are debuting with their films next year. Both their teams have become pretty aggressive in pitching their stars and making them the next big thing for Hollywood. We told you how PC's presence in Hollywood is much stronger than DP because she already has a hit TV show likeQuantico to flaunt. Everyone knows her while Deepika is fairly new.
But Vanity Fair featured Deepika in Hollywood's Generation Next feature for xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage, completely ignoring Priyanka Chopra who will debut withBaywatch in 2017. Clearly, some strong PR machinery is on work here. But we have reasons to believe that despite all that, PC will still have an upperhand because the makers of Baywatch have decided to mount a publicity campaign exclusively for the actress character of Victoria which will be similar to what was done for Heath Ledger's Joker turn in The Dark Knight Rises.
If you remember, The Dark Knight Rises' campaign for the unveiling of Ledger's first look as Joker was the most viral marketing campaign ever. It won the Cannes Lions Cyber Grand Prix Award and a Cannes Lions Silver Cyber Award. The makers had sent people in a tizzy with so many activities spanning for a year that the film had a huge buzz around it upon release. His look was revealed on a website where Harvey Kent's face can be disfigured to get the face of joker out. Incredible campaigning! Something similar is on the way for PC's character in Baywatch. We hear her face will be plastered on every billboard, buses and other places to give her maximum exposure. She will take over Hollywood in those days. We doubt if such activity was done ever for any actress, Hollywood or Bollywood.
So be prepared for some crazy promotional activity which will leave you wanting for more.
