Comic book legend Stan Lee has partnered with Phantom films to launch his first Bollywood film titled Chakra The Invincible'. The live-action film will be directed by Udaan' filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane.

Stan Lee launched his first Indian superhero character Chakra, back in 2011. In 2013, he launched a cartoon series before moving on to a more ambitious film deal.

The character Chakra was originally developed by Lee's POW! Entertainment and Graphic India. The character Chakra was originally developed by Lee's POW! Entertainment and Graphic India.

Chakra tells the story of Raju Rai, a young Indian orphan living in Mumbai. Determined to use science to unlock the secrets of human potential, Raju and his mentor, the genius scientist Dr. Singh, develop a technological suit that activates the mystical Chakras of the body, unleashing superhuman abilities and powers. Convinced that none must know of his new super-powered identity, Raju gives his new, mighty avatar a name, one that will represent everything he is and can ever hope to be, one that will resonate throughout the world and have the dramatic effect of bringing fear into the hearts of evildoers" CHAKRA, The Invincible!

"I'm a fan of Bollywood films and I am really excited about launching Chakra The Invincible' as my first Bollywood superhero movie. Vikramaditya is an amazingly talented filmmaker who I have no doubt can make the Chakra film a massive hit in India and around the world. I only hope he remembers to include my cameo!" Lee said in a statement.

Motwane is currently working on the Chakra screenplay with Lee and Graphic India co-founder and CEO Sharad Devarajan. Phantom's Madhu Mantena will produce the film with Devarajan and POW! Entertainment's Gill Champion. Phantom co-founder Anurag Kashyap had initially expressed his eagerness to make a superhero film 'Doga', but shelved the project after the failure of 'Bombay Velvet' at the box office.

Reports state that the film version of Chakra, will feature an older version of the titular character in his 20s, unlike the animated kids property.

^ This is a different film. That film was 'Bhavesh Joshi', a Gujarati superhero who fought against corruption. This film is based on a character created by Stan Lee.

Yes this seems to be totally different. That was produced by Eros as per latest information. First ALR dwarf film and now Bhavesh Joshi seems to be out of Eros' hands. Wonder if news of financial trouble with Eros is true. Unless ofcourse they combine forces.

Yes thats the one. It was a superhero film. Here is news on the film:

Their association with Aanand L Rai to release a slate of projects - Nil Battey Sannata that's being toasted at various festivals, 'Happy Bhaag Jayegi', a comedy with first-time pair of Abhay Deol and Diana Penty and 'Manmarziyan,' a romantic drama with Bhumi Pednekar and Ayushmann Khurrana, will continue. The filmmaker of 'TWM' and 'Raanjhaana' is also likely to to start his own directorial venture this summer.

Eros will also take forward its association with Bhansali Productions forward with more co-productions. The studio has also tied up with Phantom's socio-drama superhero film Bhavesh Joshi with Harshvardhan Kapoor, being directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.

Edit add: I was going through the article and many things seems to have changed. Eros is no longer associated with Dishoom and now UTV is distributing it. Even Chef remake is now with Tseries and not Eros. The distributor of Do Lafzon Ki Kahani also changed from Eros.

Pen India Ltd. comes on board to release #DoLafzonKiKahani on 10 June 2016.

^ VAM himself hasn't even spoken about Bhavesh Joshi since he decided to shelve it, when he came up with that weird excuse that a film on corruption was not relevant since the new government came in.

What's happened to Eros? Wasn't last year supposed to be very good for them? 🤔

I smell the next collab between VM and RS maybe???? Hopefully these two come together again.
That other project was completely shelved i think he said that India was not ready for the movie because of the whole censorship and so on.
