finalizing Anushka Sharma as the lead actress opposite Salman Khan in
Sultan, the makers of the film were very hunting to find the perfect
lead actress for the film. Sultan, which is being directed by Ali Abbas
Zafar was very much in news for the casting even before the shooting of
the film began.

From
Priyanka Chopra, to Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra and a lot of
names had come up for the lead role opposite Salman Khan in the film.
The gossip mills were always abuzz with the rumours of the lead female
actor, but little did anyone know that Katrina Kaif was the first choice
opposite Salman in Sultan and the reason behind rejecting the role was
very much obvious.

Yes,
you read that right! A source from the unit EXCLUSIVELY revealed to us
that Katrina Kaif was the first choice before Anushka Sharma turned to
be lucky by bagging the lead actress role. Salman Khan wanted Katrina
Kaif to be his leading actress.

revealed saying, "Katrina was offered the role at first, but since she
was dating Ranbir Kapoor, she rejected the role. Ranbir was the reason
why she rejected being in the film with Salman."

Well,
all we can say that Katrina Kaif missed a very big opportunity, as we
all know Salman Khan's films are huge than expected and box office
numbers are undoubtedly massive always.

Nevertheless,
currently, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are not together as they have
allegedly parted ways couple of months ago. The estranged couple is
currently shooting for their upcoming film Jagga Jasoos' in Cape Town.
