^I can so understand what you are saying. I've seen people in my life who blindly worship some of these baba/ma.
I'm on the other side. I'm a firm believer in God, but I don't trust any baba or anyone that easily.
I've been wanting to read and understand the true essence of "Bhagavad Gita" and I do have a friend who helps me out and who embarked on this journey when she was 12 years old, but she is part of a particular group. Though I don't participate in the group activities, I just talk to her on phone to understand "Gita".
I believe in talking directly to God myself as if He were my friend and I act based on the decisions that I make and not based on what a baba or someone wants me to do. So far, so good. 😊

i agree with u some part like talking to god directly !!i read somewhere our inner consious says what is wrong and right and i believe that !! !

if we have any problem which is not getting any solution then just close eyes and concentrate on that particular problem then i guess we will get the solution OR say it as gut feeling or 6th sense... i follow my gut feelings which is right most of the times!! people who have less confidence on themselves go to babas/ma IMO..

Yeah. To me, God is more like a friend. And I do believe that He has blessed everyone of us and has provided us with opportunities and abilities to be able to make the right decisions.

Regarding your thoughts about people having less confidence in themselves going to babas, though I agree with you to some extent, I don't think that's always the case. Sometimes people get lost and they are looking for some guidance. It happens when desperation clouds your mind and you are no longer able to think clearly.

Also lot of times, we only want to hear what we want to hear and the babas promise us what we want provided we do certain other things. So, in the process of achieving what we want, we end up doing things without even giving a second thought as to the means, and without even thinking if it's right or wrong

Just recently I read a news article where a Tantrik was arrested for offering a young boy, 11 yrs old, as human sacrifice to God. Now this is pathetic! Pray tell, which God would ask for a sacrifice like this?

Yeah. The mindset of people with such terrible beliefs need to be changed. Education helps. But more than that, just be a human being. Just using common sense will deter you from such stupid & sometimes heinous acts. Parents can play a huge role in guiding their children. When kids have a good and solid foundation at home, it helps them think and judge better.
