Q. Does marketing really work as there is so much hype and publicity but films still don't open?
Ans. You can only market something if it is good otherwise it has to innovative marketing which may help a little but not enough to salvage the film. If a promo and songs are liked then you can push it through marketing but if they are not then marketing won't help. The marketing for most films is actors running around for two weeks prior to release giving interviews, city tours or going on TV shows. If someone has not liked the theatrical then seeing the team everywhere on TV and other places is not going to make him/her watch the film.

Q. Can Gabbar Is Back be a hit or will it go the Baby way?
Ans. Its better than Baby as collections in certain territories show some appreciation while Baby was more the reviewer/writer type of film where the story telling style was niche but it had a good clear run to run for 4-5 weeks. If Gabbar Is Back was released on Republic day week it would easily go over 100 as national holiday business would have been big and then clear run but now there are major films in the way. It will still do better tha Baby but that Hit verdict depends on the film still collecting after week two.

Q. Will Piku open better than Shamitabh?
Ans. It should as the cast is better but it won't beat by leaps and bound. These sort of films have their limits but sadly week in week out there is this sort of film which can never really get a big audience to the theatres.
