Am so obsessed with her lately.
I have been recently obsessed with watching her songs phatte tak nachna and The party song from Khoobsurat. She's so good in both Of the song. I have watched both of these videos so many times. Am gonna go watch after I finish editing this comment too. 😆

And her interviews are always entertaining. I love looking at what she wears too..most of the time they are so on point.

Thank you for this Carrot!

I absolutely agree. I like her movies more because they all are different in their own way, she manages to choose films that suit her. I know her voice modulation needs work but she can act quite well sometimes. I'm glad she doesn't waste her time on flowerpot roles and looks only on roles that give the heroine equal space!

I really like her in chick flicks. I love that she eats whenever there's a heart break cuz I do that too. 😆

She looks good and she picks hatke roles. I thought she was decent in DKD but it was a step back from what she accomplished in khoobsurat. I blame the script and not her though. She was decent with what she was given. But people forget that she's has the soul to play deep characters like D6, Ranjhaana, Mausam, and she can do the light-weight, lovey dovey. I liked Bewakoofiyaan a lot too. Her future films have in good, solid roles. She runs her mouth, but her heart's in the right place--she realizes her mistakes too.

Thank you for this thread!

I have a lot of respect for Sonam for the very same reason. Yes, she has chosen not to star in Khan or male oriented movies just cause she does not wish to be a pretty face to gain mainstream success. Otherwise she was very much in demand after Saawariya, so she could have definitely played a pretty face in male oriented films and gained success that way.

But she didn't do that and that's precisely why I am her fan. She did what she believed in, did meaty roles in films where she didn't have a 4 scene and 3 song appearance just to garner success. Her films like Ranjhaana, Khoobsurat, films where she had meaty roles did make good profits without a Khan or others, not to mention Ranjhaana was a solid hit. Name another actress in her generation who takes the same risks as her and I'll be their fan in a heart beat too.

Also have to agree with some others are saying here about her acting calibre too, she is a decent actress. Somehow it's fashionable in this forum to trash Sonam's acting skills, amongst everything else about her as well. Certainly, each to their own, but I am so glad I'm not part of that bandwagon. 😆

Bless this thread !! Even more so cause it comes from someone who doesn't really like her. #respect

I admire the fact that she is so adamant in doing roles that have meat in them and if that means not staring in any superstars x,y,z film then so be it. It would've been so easy for her to jump on the bandwagon of flowerpot roles, if anything it would've aided her career a whole lot more if she had done so. I respect the fact that she introspected and realised what she wanted out of her career and forged ahead with it when she chose Raanjhanaa, cause post 2010 - 2012 she had lost her way.

From what I see Sonam caters to her fans, she knows her market and does films that we'd enjoy from the lighter ones (IHLS, Aisha, Bewakoofiyaan, Khoobsurat) to the slightly harder hitting ones (D6, Raanjhanaa even Mausam/Saawariya to a certain extent.) Even her upcoming films are diametrically different from one another PRDP, Neeraj Bipoic & B4B. Sonam's making the effort to challenge herself and to continue improving which is all we (her fans) could ask for tbh.

For me personally I love that we've seen her opposite so many actors and the latest one being Rajkummar, I don't think anyone ever thought we'd see them together on-screen lol. I hope that never changes, that she continues working with an array of actors rather than just the big names (senior or junior).

She's not a crappy actress at all and I loved Aisha. She needs to be more focused and select good scripts rather than giving silly interviews which results with being misquoted
