First look: Kangana Ranaut, Imran Khan pair up for Katti Batti

A bespectacled Imran Khan and a quirky Kangana Ranaut make for an adorable onscreen couple for their upcoming film Katti Batti. The two have been paired up together for the very first time for a unique romantic comedy. Directed by Nikhil Advani, the film is slated to be released on September 18.

Nikhil Advani, who is known for films like Kal Ho Na Ho, will yet again make a romantic comedy but the leading actress Kangana Ranaut says that it is a unique love story. "It is a very good love story. It is different from the usual love stories that we get to see in Bollywood films. The element of love has been depicted in a different way in that film. The film's idea and philosophy is very good."

The film revolves around new age relationships and Kangana who plays Payal in Katti Batti says that the film will strike a chord with the young generation.

"Writers have used elements like the battle of the sexes, issues of urban couples, expanded truth and non-linear narrative. We have UTV as the producers and I have worked with them in Fashion and Life in a Metro, two of my most memorable films," said Kangna.

"It's a most unusual love story steeped in the culture and language of today's relationships. We wanted to make sure that the script gets the right director and cast. We are thrilled to have Nikhil, Imran and Kangana on board for the film," said Siddharth Roy Kapur, Managing Director, Disney India.
