Sidharth Malhotra more successful than Ranbir Kapoor?

Sidharth Malhotra is the next big thing of Bollywood. The quiet actor who debuted in Student of The Year alongside Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan is coming out to be a promising talent who has caught everyone's attention. If buzz is to be believed, he has more films in his kitty than most of his contemporaries including Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. And if that is not enough, all these films come from big banners including Dharma Productions and Balaji Motion Pictures.

Sidharth is barely three films old in the industry, with SOTY, Hasee Toh Phasee and now Ek Villain which is ready to hit the theatres. However, it seems that he has already impressed filmmakers with his acting mettle. Sidharth has signed a non-exclusive two film deal with Balaji Motion Pictures. Likewise, the man has bagged three films with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, which include remake of popular French film Priceless which will be co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures, Karan Malhotra's Warrior and Shakun Batra's yet untitled directorial venture. Besides, the man shall also play a supernatural character in Vikramaditya Motwane's Bhavesh Joshi.

With such a line-up of films under his hat already, the man is going great guns with his Bollywood career.

The no-fuss involved actor is giving great competition to his contemporaries like Ranbir Kapoor who also has a string of good films; however, the film count is not as great, nor are the banners.

As far as Ranbir is concerned, he currently has Anurag Khashyap's Bombay Velvet, Jagga Jasoos with Anurag Basu which he will co-produce as well. And then he has Vicky Singh's Roy followed by Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha.

Plus, it is also interesting to note that Dharma Productions is the same production house that backed Shah Rukh Khan in his formative years in Bollywood.

Can we say that Sidharth Malhotra is the next Shah Rukh Khan of Bollywood? Well, only time will tell.

Siddharth has a better line up than Ranbir Kapoor, proved his acting mettle, backed by Dharma who apparently 'backed' Shahrukh Khan in his formative years. Ermm delusional much? 😆

I personanally think Ranbir is overrated and besides Barfi I have not enjoyed his work. I don't know if Sid is more "successful" than him, but someone is surely going to overtake him soon.

Only big banner films don't matter, directors matter too. Ranbir is working with the best of the lot on many big budget projects and the best of scripts. This article is being silly by saying Sid is more successful cos he has more projects in his kitty than Ranbir. Since when did only count of films become a measure of success? And all newcomers are working with big banners like UTV, YRF, Balaji and Phantom now, not just Sid.

For that matter, Ranbir too will be working with Ayan on a trilogy with Dharma, Jagga Jasoos is also a franchise film with Disney UTV, he is being chased for many other projects. Ranbir has already made a place with his body of work, to an extent that people look forward to a film cos Ranbir is there in it. Awards, top brands, standing in the industry, a massive price for every film- he has it all. Sid is yet to get there.

This is not to say Sid is not doing well. He is doing very well and yes, if he plays his cards well he might even become the biggest of the younger lot, who knows. My intention is only to point out that this article is very, very AMATEURISH.
