When it was announced that Emraan Hashmi is working with Danis Tanovic for his next film, a lot of people declared that he had arrived. From being launched into Bollywood by his uncle Mahesh Bhatt to landing a role in the Oscar- winning filmmaker's next, Emraan had indeed come a long way. But now, there is a sudden break in his plan. The film, which was being shot in India, is reportedly shelved. " Danis wanted to shoot the film in India and had set his sight on the exact shooting locations too. He did a thorough recce and only then did he proceed with the location. He shot for some portions in Mumbai and thereafter, the entire crew shifted to Punjab, where the first schedule was completed.
Some pictures of him riding a Bullet on the sets while shooting also released sometime around February last year.
He even walked the red carpet for the world premiere of Danis' latest film, An Episode in The Life Of An Iron Picker at the Berlin International Film Festival last year. However, there hasn't been any talk of the next schedule of the film taking off right now. It could possibly be because Emraan is currently shuttling between Canada and India for his son Ayaan's treatment. He is also shooting for Vikram Bhatt's Mr X. Now that is a film which will require some time to shoot as it has a lot of special effects involved. Along with Emraan's unavailability, there is now an issue with the funds too. The film, which is underway, has no takers despite having a name like Danis. All these factors together may force the film to be shelved or get delayed indefinitely," says a source.
The film is being made under the banner of Prashita Chaudhary's Cinemorphic Productions in collaboration with Anurag Kashyap and Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment in India.
We tried checking with Emraan but he chose to not respond to our message.
Even Guneet remained unavailable for comment.
