Guess Who?
Some projects look great on paper but when they are translated onto celluloid, things don't quite shape up the way they were meant to.
That's what happened with this film, a remake of a very popular film of the '80s. The original had wowed the box office and critics alike as it went against the grain of the typical films being made back then. The remake was announced with great fanfare by a major studio and shooting started late last year. Recently, the studio executives saw the rough cut and were aghast at what they saw. Add to that the fact that the leading actor also hasn't had a great run at the box office lately.
Last heard, the studio in question was still wondering what, if anything, could they do to salvage the situation or at least cut their losses. Moral of the story: sometimes iconic films and iconic performances are best left alone.
