The problem with the recommended measurements for size is that no one has the perfect proportion. So my friend who has a waist size of ~34-35in wears size 14 comfortably and in some cases even a size 12 fits her (note that she has an apple shape). I myself range between 8 and 10 which is considered the average size here in the UK but that does not mean I am thin. Size 14 is sometimes taken as obese here and there is even some propaganda to remove mannequins of size 14 as it can encourage 'obese' people to think their size is perfectly acceptable.

Here is one 14 (UK) lady. I think, she'd look like Pari if she wears tight cloths.

Here are a few ladies of different shapes.. Size 12 (UK) doesn't look like she needs to wear tight cloths or girdles.
