Bipasha: Legal hassles
We had earlier informed you about how Bipasha Basu had gone public with allegation of harassment when she was in New Jersey, United States for India Day Parade on 15th August. Bipasha had alleged that she was humiliated and harassed by the two escorting members from among the organizers all along the way from her hotel to the venue. When Bipasha reached the venue a good two hours late, she picked up the microphone and made these allegations in front of the 10,000 strong audience gathered for the parade. When the organizers tried to stop her from speaking, Bipasha asked the audience if she could speak and the crowd supported her. Bipasha however had not pressed charges either against the two individuals or against the organizers - India Business Association. Now, the organizers who had promised to conduct and inquiry into the case have decided to sue Bipasha Basu for making the false allegations and reneging on the deal. Bipasha had not participated in the parade and left the venue after making the allegations, which she was supposed to. The organizers are blaming that the event had failed because of Bipasha's lack of professionalism. If the organizers go ahead with their decision, Bipasha could get entangled in legal hassles for no fault of hers. Here is hoping that the sense of propriety prevails and Bips is spared the ordeal.

Urmila: Celebrity for a cause
Urmila Matondkar is slowly increasing the scope of her influence to life beyond films. She has now agreed to lend her support to the cause of spreading AIDS awareness. Urmila will be traveling to Delhi and Pune with a BBC crew to interact with people on matters related to HIV and AIDS. While in Pune, Urmila will host an open-air free-for-all debate on the issue of AIDS which will be telecast by BBC. Urmila told the press, "AIDS needs to be addressed hands-on. " She adds "I think it's time more and more of us created awareness about issues that go beyond cinema. If you're a celebrity you better use the power to make a difference." We hope the others are listening.

After Chandni Bar, Satta, Page 3 and Corporate, Madhur Bhandarkar is currently working on Signal. But even before the film is complete, Madhur has gone ahead and announced his next venture titled Fashion. And in his trademark style, this film too will give audiences a peek into an unknown world - that of fashion. The film wll be produced by UTV Motion Pictures and it will examine the life on and off the ramp and what really goes on behind all the gloss. The film is expected to release in the second half of 2007. Madhur is currently working on the script and will be finalizing the cast and crew once the script is ready.
