Urmila Matondkar - the sex bombshell of Bollywood.

Shabana Azmi and Smita Patil - The evil cousins ruling the 80s Parallel Hindi cinema.

All of them are legendary..and are some of the most prominent faces of Hindi Cinema..Difficult to Vote..But the list will be incomplete without Waheeda Rehman, Shabana Azmi, Aishwarya Rai and Rani Mukherjee..

you know you cant take a poll seriously when it lists juhi chawla but not kajol in the list of most iconic actresses!

Not sure about the olden day actresses because I wasn't into Bollywood then so I cant comment.

Sridevi is obviously a legend, only she can not work for 15 years and make a successful comeback.

Sorry but I don't consider Madhuri an icon. I mean, would an icon really be a reality tv judge on some third-rate show. Whats the difference between her and the others like Sonali, Malaika or Shilpa Shetty who judge reality shows.

Sridevi has an aura of an icon. She doesn't need to degrade herself to some show where she is fake-praised every 10 mins. In my opinion, true talent is silent and Sridevi is the epitome of that.

And you clearly seemed to have missed some big names like Shabana Azmi, Karishma, Kajol, Aishwarya, etc Funny that you have Juhi there but not them 😕 I think even Vidya, Kareena and Priyanka have achieved more than Juhi.

Juhi was popular and an a-grade actress, but she is not iconic.

I don't think so. Nargis, Meena Kumar, and Madhubala are always considered legends in all the articles I read whenever they talk about the legends in BW. Nargis has Mother India and Madhubala has Mughal-E-Azam. Both of the films are considered all times greatest movies of BW and hold many years of record More like women Oriented movies since Both had strong performance oriented female roles and Mother India was anyway women oriented movie. Mughal-e-Azam was though a love story, but best remembered for Madhubala's role since she had the best performance and role in it I guess like Lootera where Sona had the best role and remembered more for, so they are the best remembered for their roles in these movies. Plus Madhubala also had beauty.

Meena Kumari doesn't have such a record breaking movie or role in such a movie, but she has so many strong roles to her credit ! She is known as tragic Queen She is always mentioned too along with Nargis and Madhubala.

Sridevi and Madhuri- Sometimes yes and sometimes no. And, they are still here, so let's see if people will still remember them after 60-100s years from their prime time.

Jaya Bachan etc are for sure not Icons or considered as.
