The plane is likely underwater in the ocean. It could be anywhere in the ocean. Do you know how big the ocean is and how deep? Find my iphone features won't work at the bottom of an ocean nor will tracking via satellite. It took 2 years to find the main body of the air france flight that went into the ocean. 2 years!

I was just using iPhone as an example, if a tracker can be made for an iPhone I don't see why the same or better cannot be done for a plane. If there isn't then that's really stupid.

I find it unlikely the whole plane sank in the ocean. Firstly the bodies of water they are searching are not that large or deep. Secondly, if the plane did crash, I don't think every single part of the plane will be underwater; there has to be something somewhere that is afloat. For example they thought they had found the door of the plane. So I doubt that

The situation with Air France is incomparable to this one. That flight crashed due to a huge storm, that too in a large body of water. This is an entirely different situation

Perhaps methane gas bubbles sank it.

Have been following MH370 disapperance since the news broke for the first time on Sunday Morning. (Malaysia being our next door neighbour probably affected me all the more. )

All those comparisons to Air France Flight 447 are inevitable, but both the cases are not exactly similar. For one, AF447 did send out distress signals to the Ground Controller before it went off-radar and some part of the debris was found within 3 to 5 days of the disapperance, if my memory serves me correct. And this in an area which is thousand times wider and deeper than the Gulf of Thailand, where MH370 is purported to be last seen. The depth of the Ocean where AF447 disappeared was 13,000 feet and the depth of the Ocean where MH370 disappeared is barely 200 feet.
If the Ocean is big and wide, then so is the search party. Nine countries are participating in the search including the US and they have access to the best of the best equipments...its very weird that they haven't even found a trace of the plane...like it just vanished in thin air! Even the Oil slick that was found in Vietnam waters was tested and it turned out that it wasn't even Aviation Fuel.

Those who are saying that the plane went down the ocean intact are not taking into accout, that unless, the pilot was making an emergency landing in the middle of the ocean, there is no way, that the plane would not have exploded during contact with water. In fact, if the plane exploded in contact with the water and is lying somewhere in the bottom of the Ocean, then the debris should have been located within hours of the disapperance...cause the low impact would have caused the plane to break into large pieces and most of the plane is buyont, so something must have been floating on the surface by now!

The most probable explanation that comes to my mind is that it exploded mid-air, when it was cruising at 35,000 feet and because of that the debris was strewn over a very large area, including Vietnam, the Gulf of Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. Those having lived in Asia would know that all these countries have over-lapping borders and the area where the plane disappeared is mostly uninhabited and mountainous...hence so much delay in finding any trace of the plane.

Even then, it is very strange! Because modern day jetliners have equipments in them that keep sending signals long (for weeks in fact) after a catastrophic accident also...and most of the recording equipments including the black box are virtually indestructible.

I just hope something comes out of the search...the people who have missing family members need some kind of closure. Its really sad for them, because I am sure, one part of their hearts is hoping for a miracle and all these conspiracy theories about the disapperance is only adding to their misery and confusion.

I think government must be knowing something. I can't even think how can a plane vanishes just like that without even sending a warning.

The mid Air explosion seems the most possible scenario since the plane's last contact was at 35, 000 feet.

I read somewhere the plane tried to turn around before disappearing from records.

God this is very disturbing news.

I don't want to sound stupid but, if the plane is underwear, cant they just go down there are see if its there? If we have cameras in outer space, is there not a similar system for under water? If it was the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean - okay fine, its probably impossible to do that there, but in this situation, these aren't large bodies of water.

And what about satellite imagery? If they can capture pictures of peoples houses, and all that, cant there be similar things done for mid-air? Cant they see where it is. You're telling me they can throw a satellite in space and see things from there, but they cant do that here? I don't have the knowledge when it comes to satellites, but IM pretty sure I make sense LOL

Also, how could there not be any other method of tracking. I mean, I can track my iPhone even its turned off and in some corner of the world. You're telling me you cant do that with a plane? We can put microchips in dogs...and track them when they're lost, but with planes suddenly there are no other options? Somehow I find it doubtful.

exactly what i was thinking, it is just so strange
