It entails that nobody in Hollywood is more than six contracts or movies away from 'Footloose' star Kevin Bacon. It is based on the theory of six degrees of separation, according to which no two people are more than six acquaintances or contacts apart. Google, which is known for having a little fun on its famed search engine from time to time, had introduced a Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon calculator two years ago. The calculator tells you how many contacts away an actor is from the famed Kevin Bacon.
We calculated the 'Bacon score' for a host of Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor. While Amitabh Bachchan was two contacts away from Kevin Bacon with a score of 2, SRK was three contacts apart from the Hollywood biggie.
The way to calculate a person's bacon score is quite simple. All you need to do is type the celebrity's name along with 'Bacon number' in the search engine and Google will tell you the result. The search engine also gives details on how it has reached that particular score. For instance, Kabir Bedi's Bacon score is 2 because he appeared with Aidan Quinn in 'Forbidden Territory' and Quinn had starred with Kevin Bacon in 'Cavedweller'.
