What? That India is a regressive country for women? How so? India has every strata of conservative and liberal thoughts among different sections of the society. It is moderately conservative as a whole and ultra-orthodox in specific portions. Has nothing to do with the country being regressive. What Mallika said should appear offensive to every sensible, educated person.

You obviously think the ultra-conservative sections in India define the country as a whole. No, it does not. If there are misogynistic practises and voices, there are enough people to counter and shun them too. Case in point, there are people who practise female foeticide, there are people who protest against them. There are drives to encourage people to have baby girls. After the Nirbhaya case, many politicians tried to blame rapes on women's clothing. Thousands protested against that. And like I said, the degree of conservativeness varies from state to state, section to section and lastly from people to people. In any case, "regressive" entails regressive laws, and India has some of the most pro-woman laws on the planet, how often they reach every woman is of course, a seperate question and debate. But on no account can India be termed "regressive for women". Its a gross misrepresentation of facts. You say dangerous for women, you might have a point. But regressive? Not.

and

what youre saying sounds very impressive and progressive...but only on paper. Dont be naive to think that because its a law everything proceeds accordingly. A country so deeply rooted in things like the caste system or foeticide isnt going to suddenly change because the law says otherwise. it takes time but dont turn your back on reality either. change will only come about if the problem at hand is acknowledged and actively addressed.

The glass is still half empty (more than half empty if u ask me). Dont look at this issue from your privilaged position and dont cloud your vision with patriotism...it doesnt help anyone. since women issues, among other things, are still at large, to say India (i would also include pakistan) is a regressive country is a fair statement.

and i wont be replying here to anything related to this topic again. if you want to follow on with this discussion head over to the chat section or something and link me.

SRK was crucified the same way coz of raising funds for Pak flood victims.Celebrities are soft targets now a days🤢

Ranveer did the same performance at saifi, like the one at Kabadi world cup closing ceremony. So its obvious this offer came to him overnight.Shooting for kill dil,NY trip,Gunday promotion.I am sure he didn"t even get time to rehearse. So jaldi jaldi mein ho gaya shayad.Entertainer hai. This type of Stage performance is quite new to him.Like dancing at parties, functions, events, birthdays, weddings. Before he used perform only at award functions.thoda controversy ho gaya isbaar.Kya kare.Ek galti sab ko maaf hoti hai yaar. Can"t say the same about Salman.
