The promo of the movie was very unappealing though.

Btw, as Byomkesh I didn't like Aabir at all.

I also did not like Swastika much in second byomkesh movie, she seemed too forced. But mogs how can you not love abir? He was so amazing as Byomkesh.
Frankly I am quite apprehensive about Dibakar's byomkesh post Ritoparno's saytanyeshi. and App Dibakar is putting college going Byomkesh and what not in this movie as it seems from the articles.

Did Byomkesh have unibrow? I can see Sushant has unibrow when he's shooting.

Edited: Wrong info.😳

I found Abir's attitude/body-language too modern. He should have emulated a few olden days Bengali heroes.

Carlos Catalan is the cinematographer of this movie. Nice. He did great job in ZNMD.

Thanks. I was curious to know who the foreigner was. ZNMD's cinematography was good.

ETA: I just read the article posted by Lunza and it mentions some greek guy named Andritsakis as the cinematographer. Are there two guys behind the camera?

I too am wondering about the unibrow. It can be a controversial addition. None of previous Byomkesh had a unibrow...they did not have a moustache either. I think Dibakar is giving a lot of personal touches to Byomkesh.

Then it's the Greek guy.

Oops! The guy in the picture posted here looked liked the guy who escorted Zoya at a big bash last year. So, I thought Zoya is still seeing Carlos.

Edit: It was Nikos Andritsakis (The Greek cinematographer) who was seen with Zoya. He did Dibakar's portion of Bombay Talkies. Probably that's the reason he was seen with Zoya.

Hard to think of somebody as Byomkesh after Rajit and Abir. Speaking of sexiness, I found Abir's BB super-alluring in 'Abar Byomkesh', though the movie itself was nothing to write home about. And to be honest, Sushant looks more like an angry-young-man freedom-fighter rather than a detective with a wise and down-to-earth demeneour.

Perhaps it's intentional. In this story they are starting from Byomkesh's younger days- a just out of college guy and how and why he becomes a detective.

Part of an article:

In Byomkesh's college life, Banerjee also found the anchor for the story he was seeking. A young man of 23, Byomkesh is unsure about himself and what he wants to do " it is an aspect that Banerjee could relate to and one that helped him craft the narrative. It made him look at Byomkesh beyond the stereotype of a detective and view him as a character. "Detective is what he does but who he is adds to how he does it. Is he shy and hesitant? Or confident and a show-off? These aspects will make him relatable to the audience as the film will also be Byomkesh's coming-of-age story," said the 44-year-old director.

Yeah, maybe you're correct. The "times of despair" settings do justify his intense look..But I hope there's a transformation into the Byomkesh that the readers and viewers (of the serial) know. Otherwise there'd be no justice to the name Byomkesh Bakshi. Know what I mean? 😃
