Saif and Shahrukh
Salman and Aamir
Akshay and Saif
AKshay and Salman
We saw these combos not too many years go.
Saif was the guest editor for Zoom and was asked his opinion if the journalists wanna run this story, but he also gave his view.
Journalist: Is it coz stars get wary about how much screen time they'll get or who gets the better role?
Saif: Well, more than that, think about the finances. If you pay 20 crores for Akshay Kumar, and then you pay another another 20 crores for another A lister hero, toh phir film kaun banaaye ga? ANd if you double the hero's investment, that doesnt mean that you double the profits. For instance, if you take Salman Khan in a film, pay him his fees, then you take Aamir in the same film, double the fees, your audience will not double. It's not like if Aamir is added to the film, twice as many people wills how up. Salman is already enough to pull in huge amounts. About the same amount of people will show up. So you double your investment, but get the same returns. It's simple maths, na.
He's also asked about PR pressurizing jouranlists when they write controversial or scandalous stories.
Jouralist: So what should we do? Should we maintain ties with a star or write a scandalous story?
Saif: You should do your job. Stars know that if they're dating or any action, they will get written about, there's always a possibility of a scandal or controversy. We're prepared for it. You shouldnt have to compromise on your job for the sake of ties. If I'm friends with Omar (editor) that doesnt mean that he cant write about me. We cant pressurize you that way. There should be no such ties. You should write your story, becuase if you dont, someone else will, and you lose out. And audiences are interested. If we stars dont wanna see it, we can always flip the channel and watch BBC News instead
