Chennai Express Trailer, Budget Updates

Chennai Express is a Hot Property as soon as it starred Shahrukh Khan starred in the film. CE also stars Deepika Padukone opposite SRK and it is directed by talented Rohit Shetty. Chennai Express theatrical trailer is not going to release with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani as per latest update. Earlier it was reported that there is a chance of releasing CE trailer with YJHD. In fact trailer is going to release few days after that.

If reliable sources are to be believed then CE trailer was earlier expected to be attached with YJHD prints. But it is not possible now as that deadline is about to pass. Makers are now contemplating to release the 1st theatrical trailer around in the first week of June.

As for the budget of Chennai Express, it is touted to be made on 70 crore (inclusive of Publicity and advertisement). Makers of CE have already sold the Satellite Rights of the film for around 50+ crore. Plus around 6 crore is already recovered from Music Rights. If Home Video and other recovery is deducted from film cost, then only around 10-12 crore is needed to be recovered from India and Overseas theatricals. That means CE is already in safe zone and it will recover everything in first two days of Theatrical Business itself at most.

As for the release of Chennai Express it is on schedule for EID release. Singh Saheb The Great has opt out of Eid release and hence, it is now two way battle between Chennai Express and Once Upon Time in Mumbaai Again starring Akshay Kumar.
