^ My bro and dad have been to Turkey twice now.. my brother even thrice, they went to Antalya. Everyone here loves that place! LMAOOO yeah, thats pretty shit actually 😆 but I know how famous Aishwarya is in Turkey. I had this Turkish lecturer and he was so damn crazy for her! He used to call me Aishwarya during class when I told him that I am indeed Indian 😳 He was also the only person in my whole college who was able to guess my origin right instead of telling me Iranian/Afghan or Turkish because he watched Bollywood movies. He was Kurdish too Mukherjee. I tell you.. Turkish people are so much fun and nice, especially compared to Moroccan people here. Oh and Turkish people are damn good looking too 😳

Wow, you speak a lot of languages! Two languages which surprised me are Dutch and Dari?
I also speak Dutch becomes I live in The Netherlands and Dari is my mother tongue.
Apart from that, I also speak English and Hindi and a bit Spanish.
But how come you speak Dari?

I grew up in the Netherlands, and the only people who I could connect with and had a lot of similarities with were the Turkish and Afghan. Afghans are almost the same, and I used to often visit my best friend's place and her family used to talk in Dari with each other, since I could only understand a few words my friend decided to teach me Dari on our college trip 😆 I can kinda understand a lot of it now, although speaking it is really hard for me 😳

Oh wow, thats cool! I live in the Netherlands but I was born in Afghanistan, which is why my mother tongue is Dari. I also know a few Turkish people, but can't speak the language. I do know a few words though, like 'tamam', 'baba', 'aane', and a few more 😆

That's great to hear Indians and Turks are getting along abroad.

I went to college in the US and all of my friends were Indian. I had never met Indians before that but I've never felt close to American culture, I've always been into Eastern culture, so I would connect with Indians immediately. My best friend that I spent every day with was Indian, from Goa.

I don't think all Turkish people are nice 😆 Even my family who has been to other countries didn't understand my fondness of Indians and Indian culture, movies. It took them time to understand that this is a part of me now. I've never been to India but I feel very close to it...I can say I am as patriotic about India as I am of Turkey.. Movies have played a huge role in it. But I think I've done a good job because my American born Indian friends would say I am more Indian than they are 😆

I think there are a lot of similarities in our culture... I'm guessing because Turks are Central Asian and I've read that some Turks lived in parts of India before the Moghul era. The Iranian influence on both India and Turks also created a lot of similarities. There are hundreds of common words in Turkish and Hindi and they all have Farsi roots.

This is getting too long but one thing I really admire about India is that despite many years of English rule, Indians have held on to their culture very closely. Turkish people dressed very similar to Afghan/Iranian/Indian style during the Ottoman Empire and then we took Europe as a role model. We only wear modern clothes now but I wish we could have held onto our culture more.

Right now there is a Turkish serial about the Ottoman empire and it's so obvious that all the fabrics and jewelry they are using were bought from India 😆 because that's where everything used to come from back then too.
