My parents always yelled at us whenever we replied to a desi in english, even if we are short of words, we were told to make an effort. We all hated it then, but now I understand where he was coming from.

I've had so many random Desi's telling me to learn proper hindi, I hate it though, but my own family member's lyk my uncle's, aunts etc all of them live abroad and none of them ever told us/me or even my cousins (their kids) to learn proper hindi/marathi.

They always say as long as we're able to converse in English all is fine 😆
