Firstly Mahi Gill took acclaims at 2010 Filmfare and other awards for Dev D. And Last year she was nominated for Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster in nearly all awards show including Filmfare. So that's way ahead Anu in awards. Despite knowing the reality of Indian awards.
Also BBB and JTHJ all came 2 - 4 years after her debut. That itself tells how long it took to get settled in tot that role.
Sonakshi's debut was more of a grand debut and people till this day still remembers her Thappad Dialogues. Who remembers any dialogues of Anu in RNBDJ. Only thing I remember is SRK saying Taani partner.
To note Sonakshi has had more successful success rate so far. 1 ATBB, 2 Blockbusters and 1 Hit while only one flop. But as for Anu 1 Super Hit, 1 Blockbuster, 1 Hit, 1 Average and 3 flops.
Also Sonakshi online is 10 times ahead Anushka, even in Forbes popularity ranking and Times Celebex SONAKSHI HAS DOMINATED. Sona is infact ranked no.2 just behind Katty in last few months of 2012. While in Forbes list Sona is 35th and Anu is 45th.
And Sonakshi despite playing traditional girl has played either, Bihari, UP, Bengali and Punjabi girl inn her film unlike Anu.
Also to note Sona rumours about nose job are just rumours like every actresses, despite she looks most natural in B-twon. With indian look looks that actresses back in the days had. It's not like Anu, who's is quite clearly visible.
