but in all of these movies women were shown as victims!!!!

the thing is even if a movie shows that everything is hunky dory in the end..the fact that it disregards the personal and intellectual abilities of a female; and reduces a woman's worth to that of an instrument for the sexual pleasure that she can produce in the mind of another is objectification for me! just my view:)

Sasur STOP LYING YAAR

Look at what all kids sing these days

Yeh jism hai toh kya
Ye rooh ka libaas hai
Yeh dard hai toh kya
Ye ishq ki talash hai
Fanaa kiya mujhe
Ye chahne ki aas ne
Tarah tarah shikast hi hua

Bheegey Hont Tere, Pyaasa Dil Mera
Lage Abrah Sa, Ha Mujhe Tan Tera
Chamke Barsa De, Mujh Par Ghataye
Tu Hi Meri Pyaas, Tu Hi Mera Jaan
Kabhi Mere Saath, Koi Raat Guzaar
Tujhe Subah Tak Mein Karoon Pyaar

I think that statement applies to a large extent to the films he directed and wrote, not to the Bhatt films as a whole.

you show a woman in the sex trade...you might show her as a victim yes!! but you are also showing how women are treated as objects(even if you have the most noble intentions)!! maybe he is painting a picture close to reality-thus I would not want to question his intent! However he can not deny that even in the real world if a woman is forcibly pushed into the flesh trade business it is commodification!

so a movie showing how x was molested objectifies x coz the molesters objectified her in their personal sphere and the movie showed that on some level...whatever be the ending of the movie!!

also if you feel that the movie truly reflects the plight of the victims in a manner which in no way shows disrespect to women..then that's your opinion:)

is it only me who agrees with him here?

i don't think he used women as commodities- mostly women have had strong roles in his movies- i am not talking with respect to bold scenes but speaking of objectifying women- his movies mostly did not do that!

how about kasoor? a movie on a strong independent woman who fights a case and puts the criminal behind bars through her power- bhatts have given some brilliant women oriented movies ignoring the bold scenes
