yeah Sharma's are Hindu Punjabi... maybe Anu's family doesn't live in Punjabi and maybe haven't lived there for a while but her ancestors are from Punjab.

I'm Sharma too!

But I would like to see Neeru in a movie with Akki!

Sharma's aren't exclusively from Punjab, more-so northern India. Sharma is to Brahmins as Singh/Kaur is to Sikhs. There's nothing more to the name.

I found this interview of Anushka Sharma- where she claims she is Punjabi, her dad was in army so they moved a lot. And, here parents were not from Punjab but here ancestors are definitely Punjabi. I am yet to meet a Sharma who is Non-Punjabi. I loved Jatt and Juliet but hope they make a good remake out of it.

i was confused by this article:

The actor who plays a wedding a planner in her forthcoming film, says that she enjoyed playing a Punjabikudi. "There is a widely accepted misconception about me that I hail from Punjab. May be, it is because I look very Punjabi, but I am actually from Bengaluru and very proudly so. But I guess that my persona is very much like a Punjabi kudi and that is exactly what you will see me playing in my next movie," she says.

- cus even if her family was from punjab a while ago, she doesnt identify with being punjabi unlike pc who is proud to be punjabi
