The last time a movie had a series of newcomers was MOHABBATEIN. All those six people were touted as the next big thing! 😆 Then, what happened? All of them went down the drain and I think even one of them did a sexy semi-p*rn film! 😉 However, with SOTY, let Alia and those two other hot guys enjoy the 5 minutes of fame. But, there is no guarantee they will get a hit with their second movies. Karan Johar can only do so much. 😲 Will the NEWCOMERS in SOTY go the MOHABBETIN way?! Please share your thoughts...😆

Yeah you are right about Mohabbatein I actually thought that Jimmy will go a long way and he did but he went so far away that we cant even see him now.😆

Coming to SOTY guys,I think both have good looks and they have potential given the right movies and Katrina type of luck they can be the next big thing in BW.And Uday was so ugly man,I guess he was the ugliest in Mohabbatein.

The stars from mohabbatein werent being managed like SOTY and frankly I think Mohabbatein was successful because AB, ash and SRK were in it and not due to the 6 newcomers...

SOTY to me has more potential as firstly the newcomers generated hype about themselves more than the 6 did and the movie is mostly on their shoulders too and not some big superstar acting in it to draw in the crowds besides the cameos and secondary roles...

SOTY has been marketed well and I believe that the 3 will definitely not die off in the industry 😊

I've seen the movie..And Varun is defo talented..I think he's going to stick around! He's a good dancer, is confident and most importantly..can act!!

Sid is almost clumsy in parts...We know a lot of people who have done extremely well despite having no talent by being with the right people! Depends on how well he handles the industrywallas

Alia...she's got preeti jhangiani's role(confused aurat vala), shamita shetty's clothes and kim sharma's pout..you get the hint!

I feel between Mohabattein n SOTY newcomers, there is a huge difference .SOTY new comers atleast has it all to go far if I can pick two,then Varun ,Sid,If one then Varun & about Aliya,She is fresh n if can act better she has chances too(Esp,coz she has kind of Kareena kappor kinda attitude onscreen,offscreen she's cute)..Where in Mohabbattein it was all about SRK AB,if you ask me neither of the other actors has that kind of big effect.neither by looks nor by acting..Jimmy had potential (May be) but didn't do that well though I hear he's a good actor.. others toh I can't even comment on,they were really below average if I can say that even.

from what I've heard these debutantes will b managed by some agency of career advising and project handling...

this is a new trend in Bollywood...
all the scripts reach these agencies first and according to the type of actor they are assisting and there preference, they choose the scripts and forward it to the actors...they even handle the brands they endorse...

these 3 will be managed by someone called Reshma's...
they are very known and established in this job..

I'm not sure but I've heard that Anushka and Ranveer are being assisted by them...
also, Reshma...the founder of this entity is Salman's secretary...

Aren't this stars kids sure they can get thousands of chances. Mohabnetin only had Uday.. well isn't he still in dhoom 3 working with Aamir!! 😆

Well it all depends on what kind of films they sign from now on, whether they have good contacts, and all.

In terms of impact, I think the SOTY trio has made much more of an impact than the 6 from Mohabbatein. That movie was all about SRK and AB Sr and worked primarily because of them + Aish + Aditya Chopra directing after DDLJ...not the newcomers as such. Only Jimmy Shergill stood out amongst the newcomers. The rest were blahhh. SOTY trio has generated hype about themselves...Sid and Varun the most. The youth is going gaga over them.
