John Abraham is wearing the cloak of calm that only a man who is truly content can pull off. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that he's finally decided to get married. He smiles and says, "Priya and I have decided to get married this year."
He met her last April, and knew he wanted a happily-ever-after two months later. And he laughs off rumours that they were married inLos Angeles a few months ago.
However, he is troubled by the rumours that he began seeing her while he was still with Bipasha. "I met Priya through a common friend, there was an instant connection. I can talk to her about anything. Ours is a very honest relationship. We can tell each other everything. That's a benchmark for a healthy relationship."
They're from different worlds, but they believe in the same things. Like the decision to have a small wedding. Says John, "I know it will be this year, but I don't know when. It could be in a few months or a few weeks. I am a very impulsive guy. So I might decide to get married next week! It's possible that our wedding may have just 10 people, if we include close family." It will be a registered wedding. There will not be a religious ceremony because he is "an atheist bordering on being agnostic."
Why is Priya "the one"? "Because I can be myself with her. There are no pretenses. We don't even fight, though we argue sometimes." But it could soon be a long-distance relationship, as Priya is in London checking out courses she wants to pursue, which could keep her away for two years. Both sets of parents have given their blessings to the couple too. John has met her family twice, once in LA, where her parents are, and another time in Himachal, where he accompanied Priya after the demise of her 101-year-old grandfather.
