Will The Success of 'TDH' make it overrated ?

i saw the dirty picture before and i was only bowled over vidya's performance...but then recently i saw this movie again...and i think the 'entertainment - 3' factor might ruin this classic movie which seems like a biopic to Silk Smitha, i can understand the fimmaker's intentions tht he wanted to increase the entertainment factor to set the cash registers ringing but the film is not that bad, my fear only for this movie is the success is going to harm its value and it will possibly best known for Vidya's performance...though i liked movie as a whole...

and one thing i would like to take a stand for Emraan - vidya's story becoz i have read in reviews tht their part slows the narrative, it in undigestable how emraan changes towards silk, their track is half baked etc etc...well i think the filmmakers have done their homework well, for me it defintely CLICKED...silk could open herself as a woman in front of abrahim only...thankgod becoz i was waiting to watch emotional side of silk unless it ends with just her boldness only...superb marks on the scene where they both meet at the beach and take digs each other only to realize they now have something in liking between them too...finally emraan sets his place right this time...

and oh yeah...the filmmakers have re-searched the story well...after watching the movie i also dig some info abt and i came to know..YES YES there was a director who HATED SILK from her first day becoz she had ruined his career although he wasn't a big name but he was present at her funeral. he was in love with silk smitha but he only showered his hatred towards her in public...they have researched the part really well.

Very good! :D I agree with you on everything.

I was confused with the Romantic track I didn't get Silk new looks in it, they made her look way too young.

I like your opinion on The Dirty Picture. But, it is very rare woman-oriented films are hits and Vidya has received the maximum appreciation for this role. I hope she is able to follow-up TDP with more memorable films and performances in the next couple of years! It is hard to top TDP, but I think she can do it! 😊

😕 TDP isn't fully base of the life of Silk Smitha. It's about someone who live the life of Silk Smitha it's about a dancing star of the 80's and it shows her life from rising star to downfall.. the film might seem too much of a sex film for people who haven't seen it of course it have it's awkward moments but there was no sex in it. Even poor Emraan Hashmi didn't had his chance to get dirty in the film but it was quit refreshing to see him play a character like this for a change, I was surprised by the make up. Silk ages in such a natural progression, that you don't even notice the changes until you see how different she looks in flashbacks.

of course like i said ..they can't make the whole movie of a biopic coz it would be suicidal for them in financial reasons...they have to bring the entertainment factor. otherwise a biopic could be done more beautifully. emraan surprises in this film and how rude the awarding juries have been to him damn he deserved atleast a nomination.
