Manoj Bajpai almost lost his leg while shooting for Amrit Sagar's 1971 that is directed by Piyush Mehra. He had experienced frostbite while shooting at Rohtang Pass. But his foot was saved by the timely action of Major Vikramjit Singh also an actor who did the necessary remedy.

1971 is a movie about six soldiers who are held as POWs by Pakistan during 1971 Bangladesh war. Manoj is also doing movies like The Whisperers which is a psychological thriller about two people and Return To Rajapur which has been directed by Nanda Anand.

Here he plays the role of prince Jai Singh who has converted his palace into a heritage hotel and gets attracted to American married woman. The film is full of mystery and is the journey of this woman's daughter.
