Gaurav's travel woes

Gaurav Chopra's back in town after a gap of four months, after performing in the musical, Bombay Crush, in South Africa. However, along with fond memories of the trip, the actor had to bear the brunt of some irresponsible airline officers.

Baggage problem

"I had an unforgettable time in South Africa, but the travel part wasn't that memorable," said Gaurav. "Even during my departure from Mumbai, my flight was delayed. And when I flew from Durban to Johannesburg, my luggage was left behind."

Chopra's troubles didn't end there. On his return flight to Mumbai, the actor not only had to spend hours at the airport due to another delay, but his baggage was left behind once again.

"I couldn't believe this had happened to me not once, but twice. When they returned my luggage, it was wrapped in plastic was cracked." Did he lose anything? "Yes, a pair of shoes and a cosmetics bag."

Dj vu

Gaurav believes this was part of his destiny. "I feel I wasn't meant to leave South Africa. In fact, when I got there, I was shown this playhouse theatre where I had to perform. The moment I saw it, I thought I had been there in my dreams. As I started moving around the city, I kept going back in time and having this sense of dj vu."

Amitabh Bachchan was scheduled to inaugurate the musical, but couldn't make it due to ill health. "I worked closely with Anant Singh of Video Vision, who was planning to get Bachchan to South Africa. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Maybe there will be a next time."

Would he like to return to South Africa? "Definitely. I can't wait to do this all over again."
