The industry is abuzz with speculation surrounding the new woman in model-turned-actor Upen Patel's life. The mystery woman is Shamita Singha, a model, who also hosts shows on B4U Music.

Shamita met Upen at one of the parties. "You have to see them together to believe how much they are in love. Though publicly, Upen may not acknowledge her as the woman in his life, his close friends are very much aware about his feelings for Shamita", said a model close to Patel.

Their London trip

The two were not only seen spending some quality time with each other after the Kingfisher calendar launch party, but they also made a hush-hush trip to London, recently.

The reason for the jaunt, is apprarently, to 'meet the parents'. Upen wanted to introduce his gal to his folks. When questioned, Upen said, "Yes we did go to London. But I wouldn't want to disclose the reasons for the trip."

I enjoy her company

Though Upen refused to be forthcoming, it's no longer a secret that there is something brewing between him and Shamita. "She is, no doubt, a special friend. I enjoy her company. She's a gem of a person. I don't think I would like to add anything beyond that at this juncture."

When quizzed about being spotted cosying up at coffee shops and parties, Upen said, "I have a small group of friends and Shamita is part of them. What's the harm in being seen with the person whose company I enjoy?"

Singha: I spend time with him

To get the other side of the story, we contacted Shamita, who didn't shy away from talking about Upen. "Yes we did go to London, but I was there for work. That's the place where B4U's main office is located. But yes, I did spend time with Upen as well."

When directly asked if she was dating Upen, Shamita took some time and replied, "I don't want to discuss my personal life. Upen is someone who makes me happy, he's a great guy to hang out with. But I don't think that renders itself to dating him."

Visiting Upen on his sets

Singha was spotted on the sets of Upen's debut film 36 China Town, "I was shooting next doors, so I went to see him give a shot with a couple of friends, and was surprised to see how good a dancer he is. Also not many know that Upen is a hilarious guy. He is a total entertainer when you are with him. His one-liners and sense of humour is just impeccable."

Though they don't admit about seeing each other, a model friend declares, "Of course they are seeing each other. It's been almost six months now that Upen and Shamita are together. All of us are very happy for them, and hope it works out for them."
